Andrea K. Orth is an associate with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP. Ms. Orth prepares and prosecutes patent applications, conducts legal research, and provides technological advice in support of validity, infringement and patentability analyses, patent application preparation and prosecution, and litigation matters in the life sciences field.
Prior to embarking on her legal career, Ms. Orth worked for Iowa State University, Northwestern University, and the Iowa State Hygienic Laboratory, performing microbiology and molecular biology research on pathogenic bacteria and viruses. During law school, Ms. Orth worked at the University of Iowa Research Foundation, where she determined patentability of and commercial potential for inventions.
