Donald R. “Bob” Bunton is an associate with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP. Mr. Bunton’s intellectual property law practice currently encompasses patent litigation, patent preparation and prosecution, IP transactions, product clearance and legal opinions, IP due diligence and competitive assessments, international IP protection, and patent post-issuance proceedings. With a background in aerospace engineering and programming, he works with technical areas including electronics, computer software and hardware, and mechanical engineering.
While attending the University of Illinois College of Law, Bob worked as an analyst at the university’s Office of Technology Management, where he researched patentability of invention disclosures, prepared provisional applications, assisted with licensing agreements and research grant contracts, and made recommendations on IP protection. Prior to law school, Bob did electrical engineering work as a systems engineer for a global manufacturer of machine tools.
