Jeffrey G.Toler is an attorney with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP who serves as Chair of the firm’s Transactions & High-Tech Litigation Strategy Practice Group.

Mr. Toler is a registered patent attorney with over 25 years of experience in technology and related intellectual property matters representing corporate clients including many Fortune 500 companies and institutionally funded private companies. His expertise covers a wide range of intellectual property areas including patent acquisition and monetization, patent brokering, patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio development, IPRs, opinions, and IP related financing and other transactions. His practice fields include communications, computer hardware, software, storage, electronics, and medical devices. He has significant experience in developing and implementing high-value patent strategies and is known for bringing sophistication and creativity to the challenges of IP strategy and patent monetization.

Prior to joining MBHB, Mr. Toler was the founder of Toler Law Group in Austin. And previously he led the IP/Technology Transactions Group for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR) in Austin. His background also includes service as the General and IP Counsel for various groups within Motorola, including Motorola’s Corporate Strategy and Wireless Groups. Prior to being in-house at Motorola, Jeff performed patent litigation and prosecution work for Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione in Chicago. Jeff worked as a Research and Development Engineer for five years at AT&T Bell Laboratories.
