Michelle L. McMullen is a partner with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP and serves as Chair of the firm’s Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals Practice Group. Dr. McMullen has more than 15 years of experience in intellectual property law. Her practice comprises patent procurement, patent enforcement, and interference practice, in the areas of diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, peptide therapeutics, vaccines, metabolomics, stem cell, regenerative medical technologies, and waste water treatment and energy. Dr. McMullen’s counseling experience includes rendering client-requested opinions on patent validity, patent infringement, and freedom-to-operate. She represents pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, both large and small, as well as university clients and start-ups. Her litigation experience has encompassed a range of topics, from pharmaceuticals to business methods.
Dr. McMullen’s scientific research and publications were in the field of molecular endocrinology and developmental biology. Her scientific work included the production and characterization of transgenic animal models of human disease.
