Job Summary

MBHB is seeking candidates with three (3) plus years of business development and marketing experience in a law firm and/or different professional service firm to fill the role of Director of Business Development and Marketing. This highly visible position leads our firm-wide marketing and business development efforts. The individual will report to the Business Development and Marketing Partner and Chief Operating Officer.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, client-service- and results-oriented, and possess excellent computer (Microsoft 365 and digital marketing channels), organizational, collaborative, interpersonal, and communication (oral-written) skills. The successful candidate will also be able to build relationships within the organization and with firm clients, have a professional demeanor, and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. Being a strong writer and having attention to detail is a must. The successful candidate must also be able to prioritize, problem solve, and execute multiple assignments in a high-volume, face-paced environment.

The ideal candidate would be able to combine creativity with an analytical approach to help MBHB grow its brand in the global marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the firm’s digital marketing campaign
  • Proactively research industry and competitive intelligence to enhance business development strategies, opportunities, and synergies
  • Collaborate with firm attorneys to identify and boost touchpoints with existing and potential clients
  • Assist in the preparation of RFPs and RFQs
  • Draft and design pitch books and other strategic marketing materials
  • Plan and oversee the execution of client and potential client targeted marketing events
  • Oversee the firm’s marketing and business development budgets; analyze data for ROI and make recommendations for future spends
  • Research, identify, and prepare submissions and nominations for awards and legal directories
  • Seek out and provide support to attorneys for key speaking engagements and client-facing media
  • Draft and update website content

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience in a legal or professional services environment is required.
