MBHB announced Thursday that law students Taylor Weilnau and Joshua Zuchniarz are the recipients of its 2023 Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship.
Ms. Weilnau is a second-year law student at the Temple University Beasley School of Law. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Dickinson College. Mr. Zuchniarz is a first-year law student at the University of Chicago Law School. He has completed all the requirements for his doctorate in chemistry from the University of Chicago and will be awarded his Ph.D. in June. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry, mathematics and physics from the University of Miami.
“We believe that diversity is essential to creating a vibrant work environment and driving business results for our clients,” said MBHB Managing Partner Daniel Pozdol. “Over the years, our D&I Fellowship has provided great opportunities to talented law students, and we are excited to welcome Taylor and Joshua to the firm this year.”
MBHB’s Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship provides the opportunity for 1L and 2L students from an ABA-accredited law school to participate in the firm’s summer associate program and receive a $10,000 scholarship for law school tuition or other school-related expenses. Upon completion of law school, fellows who accept full-time associate positions with MBHB and pass the Illinois Bar Exam will be eligible to receive an additional $10,000 award. Furthermore, MBHB reimburses up to $1,000 of the recipients pre-approved travel, meal, and/or registration expenses that are associated with activities related to promoting and/or educating them about D&I topics in IP law.
