MBHB Partner Colin Wright Receives 2021 U.S. Patent Office Pro Bono Achievement Certificate

CHICAGO – June 8, 2022 – Colin Wright, partner with full-service intellectual property law firm MBHB, recently received a Pro Bono Achievement Certificate from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for his work with the Chicago-Kent Patent Hub.

“Supporting innovation is at the heart of all the work we do at MBHB, whether it’s advising a Fortune 500 company on their global patent portfolio strategy or prosecuting a startup’s first patent,” Wright said. “I’m proud to work with the talented inventors who are part of the Chicago-Kent Patent Hub and contribute to the growth of innovation in Chicago.”

The USPTO’s Patent Pro Bono Program was established under the 2011 America Invents Act. It is a nationwide network of regional programs that connect inventors with patent practitioners. In 2021, more than 125 patent practitioners reported committing 50 or more hours of pro bono service to a regional patent pro bono program.

“Our firm has a longstanding commitment to supporting startups and entrepreneurs by helping them secure patent protection for their innovations,” said Gavin O’Keefe, managing partner of MBHB and Chicago-Kent College of Law alum. “We are proud of Colin for attaining this honor and for going above and beyond to offer pro bono support to these Chicago inventors.”
