Leyna Fougere leverages a multidisciplinary background in computer science, socio-legal studies, and data analysis to support clients in patent prosecution, bringing strong technical and analytical insight across a range of software and emerging technologies.
Ms. Fougere earned her B.S. in Computer Science and Socio-Legal Studies from the University of Denver, with minors in International Studies and Mathematics. Her academic work emphasized the intersection of technology, law, and data analysis, providing a strong foundation for intellectual property practice.
Prior to joining MBHB full time, Ms. Fougere served as a Technical Advisor intern with the firm, where she gained experience supporting patent prosecution matters. She also worked as a research assistant at the University of Denver, creating data visualizations and contributing to faculty research projects, and as a student administrator in the University’s Writing Center, where she managed operations and helped streamline training initiatives. Additionally, as an intern with the Social Movement and Support Lab, she led data collection efforts and developed interactive visualizations to support research on nationwide policing and criminal justice trends.
Through these experiences, Ms. Fougere developed strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, along with technical proficiency in Java, Python, C, Linux systems, and data visualization.
