With a background in mechanical engineering and computer sciences, Seth Essendrop supports clients through the U.S. patent prosecution process, from initial application to successful issuance. Beyond his domestic practice, he collaborates with foreign associates to manage the international prosecution of patent portfolios. He has significant experience in strategic counseling, performing patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments, and providing opinions on clearance and invalidity. Clients value his guidance in developing and implementing intellectual property protection strategies aligned with their business objectives.

While Mr. Essendrop’s mechanical engineering degree provides a strong background for protecting innovations in the mechanical space, his practical experience in the field of computer science enables him to prepare and prosecute a wide range applications related to emerging technologies in the software and computing fields. Clients rely on Seth’s experience to protect innovations for:

Before pursuing his legal career, Mr. Essendrop served as a software developer and infrastructure engineer for a global financial services firm. In this role, he helped to oversee and develop internal and external cloud-based infrastructure solutions for the firm. He also supported the launch of new software services, handled cost analyses, infrastructure setup and integration, third-party software testing and security fixes, and creating design specifications.

In his free time, Mr. Essendrop enjoys spending time with his family, practicing piano and violin, and being an active member and volunteer at his local church.
