Emily Rasmussen is a Technical Advisor whose interdisciplinary training in chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and biomedical engineering enables her to bridge the life sciences and engineering to help clients protect innovative technologies.
Emily earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Mississippi, where she was supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP). Her research focused on engineering programmable biomaterial platforms for controlled therapeutic delivery. Prior to joining MBHB as a Technical Advisor, Emily completed internships with both MBHB and the University of Mississippi Office of Technology Commercialization, where she gained experience evaluating emerging technologies and supporting intellectual property strategy. Combined with research spanning biology, chemistry, biochemistry, plant virology, pharmacology, and biomedical engineering, these experiences provide her with a broad technical foundation for understanding, evaluating, and communicating complex technologies across multiple scientific fields.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys reading, volunteering and competing in clay target sports, and spending time with her senior rescue dog, Red.
