McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP (MBHB), a Chicago-based intellectual property law firm, is proud to announce that Jori R. Fuller has been elected Managing Partner of the firm.
“When we started MBHB almost 30 years ago, we aimed to build an IP law firm that provided world-class service to technologically sophisticated clients while also creating great careers for our employees,” said Daniel Boehnen, Founding Partner at MBHB. “I am thrilled that Jori will be MBHB’s next Managing Partner. She has the skills, personality, and experience to lead us in maintaining our culture of excellence in all we do.”
Ms. Fuller has been with MBHB since 2004, when she joined as a full-time law clerk and patent agent while attending law school. Over more than two decades at the firm, she has built a broad patent practice and taken on increasing leadership responsibilities, including serving as a member of the firm’s Management Board and co-Chair of the Mechanical & Materials Practice Group, as well as a leader in the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion, Reviews, and Education committees.
As Managing Partner, Ms. Fuller continues to advise clients ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies on IP strategy. Her work spans U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution, patent validity assessments, infringement and patentability analyses, due diligence, and client counseling. She regularly works with clients in the mechanical, computing, and electrical arts, including both utility and design patent portfolios.
“Jori represents the very best of MBHB. As I transition out of the Managing Partner role, I am thrilled the firm is in such capable hands,” said Daniel Pozdol, outgoing Managing Partner of MBHB. “Her leadership will undoubtedly drive our continued success.”
Before joining MBHB, Ms. Fuller earned a bachelor’s degree in general engineering, and she served as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. That experience provided direct exposure to examination practice and internal USPTO processes, which she applies in guiding clients through patent prosecution and related proceedings.
In 2023, she was recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal as a Woman Worth Watching in STEM. Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Fuller enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
