Overview

Catalina “Caty” M. Medrano is a former programmer with a B.S. in Computer Science and experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, networking, and cybersecurity. Ms. Medrano draws on her background in software design and development to help clients protect their innovations through patent procurement and litigation and by providing intellectual property counseling.

Ms. Medrano gained early experience in patent law through the Chicago-Kent College of Law’s Patent Hub, where she assisted under-resourced inventors with patent matters. She remains committed to advancing diversity in the intellectual property profession through her involvement with The IP Law Foundation, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the Hispanic National Bar Association.

Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Medrano enjoys painting, building miniatures, and reading with her cats.
