McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP partners Dr. Andrew Williams and Dr. Kevin Noonan co-author an article appearing in an August 13, 2013 online edition of Wired.com Innovation Insights entitled, “It is the Attack on the U.S. Patent System That is ‘Broken.’” The U.S. patent system is under attack. Almost daily, either someone in Washington is suggesting legislation or executive action, or the media is reporting on how the system is “broken.” Unfortunately these criticisms are the average American’s only exposure to the patent system, and these reports ignore the purpose and benefits of the patent system.
