MBHB Favorably Ranked Among Top 5 in 2018 Edition of Juristat’s Top 100 U.S. Patent Firms

McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP (“MBHB”) is favorably ranked among the top 5 within the 2018 edition of Juristat’s Top 100 U.S. Patent Firms. The annual ranking of U.S. patent prosecution law firms is based on an objective measurement of those firms’ performance in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Juristat’s analysis comes from their dataset of over seven million patent applications. The Juristat ranking of the top patent firms considers both volume and performance. It is based on a weighted average of four criteria including total number of applications filed, allowance rate, average number of office actions to allowance, and average time to allowance.

After the firms’ rankings were calculated for each criterion, Juristat calculated an overall ranking by determining a weighted average of each firm’s four rankings. To qualify for inclusion, a patent law firm must have filed a minimum of 200 applications during the timeframe used to calculate the rankings (July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016).
