MATTER Workshop: Intro to Protecting Software IP

Software patents can attract investor financing, increase business valuation, and widen competitive moats. However, the patentability of software inventions, particularly relating to medical diagnostics, has been thrown into flux over the last few years by several controversial Federal Circuit and Supreme Court rulings. In this workshop, patent attorney Aaron Gin, Ph.D. will provide entrepreneurs a road map for identifying, procuring, and protecting software-based intellectual property. Dr. Gin will also outline patent prosecution strategies to help overcome the heightened barrier for software as patentable subject matter at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
